Virtual Information Session – Alternative Approach & Monitoring for Air Quality and Noise During Construction | Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant Projects

Metro Vancouver is hosting a virtual information session to share details and gather feedback on the upcoming air quality and noise monitoring program to be installed on xʷəyeyət (Iona Island) and in neighbouring communities. We will also provide an overview of the alternative approach for the Iona Projects that was approved by the GVS&DD Board in October 2025.

Join us at a virtual information session to learn more:

  • May 21, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m.
  • May 27, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m.

The monitoring program will be implemented ahead of major construction activities for the Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant Projects. It will establish baseline air quality and noise conditions and will track data over time to help guide mitigation measures during construction.
